American Airline flight attendants run hot and cold. These were cold. Let me get you there and leave me alone. Not what I wanted for paying for a first class ticket. The food was horrible, an over cooked steak. I had amazing food on my last flight too and from Madrid. Well I made it to Buenos Aires on Friday morning. I took a cab into town and spent the day wandering. I wanted steak for dinner but opted for Italian. It was better then Italy, caprese salad and veal with mushrooms, with a bottle of wine - heaven. A great first day.
This is like being at my home away from home. I'm still thrilled with the sights as I walk around Buenos Aires. First I walked to the obelisk and the giant Argentine flag. I walked back to my hotel for some rest before my much anticipated 20 pound steak dinner. It felt like that much, and tasted awesome. I'll have to walk twice as much tomorrow.
Then to the Casa Rosada. Since it was Saturday, they were giving tours. With all my trips here, I've never taken the tour. I learned that Juan Peron and Evita never actually lived there. It only serves as the presidential office. We actually went in the president's office (above) and on the balcony as Evita did.
Inside the palace.
One of the interior courtyards.
Evita's desk.
A view from the balcony.
Evita, Evita, Evita cry the people.
The Casa Rosada.
The obelisk in the middle of the 26 lane street.
It took no time to find here tomb in the Duarte crypt.
As usual flowers adorned the door. When I get home I will again watch the movie and get ready for the musical in July.
Ryan Seacrest was even in BA.
I then walked to the Retiro Train Station. Its like a magnet. I can't take enough pictures.
Then I walked Florida Street, somehow missing Harrods.
A cute Smart Police Car.
I ended up in San Telmo for their Sunday open air market.
I had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants where I could not finish the lomo steak.
I struggled to walk back to my hotel for my departure to Mendoza. The flight was late and after I checked into my hotel it was off to bed.
